About the program
The EDP Hope Fund aims to support and finance social entrepreneurs dedicated to ensuring a fair and inclusive energy transition, leaving no one behind. In collaboration with Ashoka and Bridge for Billions, the Hope Fund offers a program to help social entrepreneurs develop scaling strategies for their solutions and access patient and flexible funding opportunities.
Throughout this second edition of the fund, participants will receive 1-1 and group mentorship, along with a structured, step-by-step approach to building a clear, feasible, and investment-worthy scaling strategy. This process will enable them to increase their social impact and expand their reach to those most in need of a just energy transition.
As a founder of the Hope Fund, EDP will select the most promising solutions for investment. The fund offers ticket sizes ranging from $80,000 to $500,000 per entrepreneur, with a total fund of up to $1.5 million. This investment prioritizes impact over financial returns, focusing on patient, flexible funding for high-potential social enterprises, and an impact horizon of up to 7 years to ensure long-term social and environmental benefits.
Not all participants will receive funding, but all will gain the tools to successfully attract investment—whether from EDP or other aligned funders.
