About the program

Bridge for Billions in partnership with EDP launches the 3rd edition of our EDP Hope Fund Incubation Program.

This initiative empowers early-stage founders by providing guidance, tools, and opportunities to build and grow viable businesses in the fair energy transition sector benefitting underserved communities.

The program connects experienced volunteer mentors with entrepreneurs who benefit deeply from encouragement, expertise, and structured support to become the next generation of inclusive innovators.

Through your participation, you help create more inclusive and sustainable entrepreneurial ecosystems all over the world, while also strengthening your professional skills.

Interested in Mentoring? You are the right fit if you...

Are enthusiastic about supporting a social entrepreneur in the fair energy transition sector building their sustainable venture.
At least 3-5 years of post-academic work experience. We particularly value experience in sustainability issues, but this is not exclusive.
Be able to commit to a 5 month program, with weekly meetings with the entrepreneurs and extra facultative team spaces to share best practises and learn.
Have a computer and stable internet access to ensure smooth and effective communication.
Proficiency in English is required, as only English applications will be evaluated. Mastery of additional languages is considered an asset*

*The program offers tailored Spanish support sessions during incubation and the platform is accessible in 13 languages

Submit your application to become a mentor.
Tell us more about yourself and your experience. Our team will evaluate all applications from mentors interested in joining the program.

Selection Announcement

By 13 May

We will review the completed applications through a selection process and select 50 participants for the 3rd edition of the incubation program. Once you are selected, you must immediately accept your participation.

Welcome Session

15 May

We will invite you to participate in a welcome session for the mentorship program. In this session, we will discuss your role as a mentor, best practices for guiding entrepreneurs, the use of support tools, and other key resources to maximise your impact in the program.

Matching Phase

15 May - 8 June

The matching process begins! You will have the opportunity to send invites to the entrepreneurs you're more interested in. Once you have met with them, you and they will submit your preferences to let us know who you wish to work with. We will then try our best to form winning pairs.

Incubation Program

8 June - 4 November

The online incubation experience begins! From here you'll start working with your entrepreneur, using the practical tools in our digital platform and following our entrepreneurship step-by-step plan to guide them overcoming challenges, testing their assumptions and building a solid business plan.

FAQs about the program

How much time should I dedicate to the program as a mentor?

During the duration of the programme, you will have to meet once a week with your entrepreneur for 1-hour mentoring meetings. In addition to that, we recommend you always dedicate at least 30 additional minutes to review and validate progress on the platform, and attend the meetings prepared. This time investment will be necessary during the 5 months of the programme, ensuring that you get the most out of this learning and growth experience.

Will I receive a final certificate?

At the end of the program, you will receive a final Mentoring Certificate. This certificate symbolises not only your generosity and commitment, but also the positive impact you have had as a mentor and the skills you have gained throughout this process.

What technology tools do I need for the program?

For the program, we recommend you use a computer with Chrome, Safari, or Firefox. Make sure your internet is stable for weekly activities and video calls with your entrepreneur.

Can I mentor more than one project?

Absolutely. But we encourage you to thoughtfully consider your availability and commitments. It is important not to overextend yourself or commit beyond what your time and energy allow.

How are mentors and entrepreneurs matched?

To facilitate the process of connecting mentors and entrepreneurs, we have created a matching process. During this time, you will have the opportunity to learn about the different projects and invite them to a “Virtual Coffee” to learn about their ideas in detail. Both parties can then decide if they wish to work together. Thus, we ensure that we create solid, lasting mentoring relationships based on mutual interest.
