About the Restoration Factory Bangladesh program

The UN Environment Program, in partnership with Bridge for Billions, with technical support from iDE, is implementing The Restoration Factory Program in Bangladesh to support early-stage eco-preneurs in the country.

Program scope

This program aims to support enterprises with focus on forest restoration and biodiversity conservation activities. The sub-sectors of interest include but not limited to:

  • Agroforestry
  • Tree nurseries
  • Ecosystem and wildlife habitat restoration.
  • Non-timber forest products.
  • Medicinal or pharmaceutical plants.
  • Natural oils, resins and cosmetics
  • Waste management and circular economy
  • Services such as ecotourism, environmental education and training
  • Sustainable food sourcing and beverages.

A mother of 2, she has over 50 employees and earns Tk 4 lakhs every month. She is a beneficiary
of iDE’s Women’s Economic Empowerment through Strengthening Market Systems (WEESMS)
project, which aims to provide greater opportunities for women to access the labor market. The
initiative will focus on increasing women’s opportunities for economic participation and
decision-making through improved access to productive employment options with small and
medium enterprises (SMEs) led by women entrepreneurs. Launched in July 2016, the project will
continue until 2021.

Entrepreneurship program
From April 29th until August 29th
The online incubation experience begins! From here you'll dive into weekly mentoring sessions, use the practical tools in our digital platform, and follow our entrepreneurship step-by-step plan. You will have 5 months to complete all the modules and develop your business plan.
