Generating an Ecosystem of Restoration Enterprises

The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), with technical support from Bridge for Billions, is
implementing The Restoration Factory under the global initiative, UN Decade on Ecosystems Restoration
SIDS Flagship. This incubation program aims to support the emergence of businesses that restore natural ecosystems, preserve landscapes, and strengthen communities.

Our goal is to create a global network of eco-entrepreneurs who are not only commercially viable, but also community-inclusive and climate-resilient. The program provides high-quality mentorship, tailored training, and practical business tools, helping entrepreneurs transform innovative ideas into real-world impact.

By partnering with Local Support Organizations in Saint Lucia, The Restoration Factory can embed this program in the local ecosystem, ensuring entrepreneurs receive culturally-relevant support while LSOs gain experience, training, and access to a global network of restoration experts. Together, we are building a future where business and nature thrive hand-in-hand.

How the Program Works

The program offers a gamified, step-by-step learning experience that helps entrepreneurs design and validate their business models. Unlike purely theoretical content, the methodology guides participants to work directly on their ideas and answer the tough questions about their projects.

Entrepreneurs are encouraged to step out of their comfort zone — talking to people, researching, and validating their ideas. Each week, a mentor is there to support them, challenge assumptions, and offer fresh perspectives.
