The SAFE Initiative is a program sponsored by the Korea Forest Service (KFS) and implemented by the Environment Program of United Nations (UNEP) Bridge for Billions and Impact Hub Phnom Penh.

The United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), the Korea Forest Service (KFS) and Bridge for Billions have teamed up to create a free business training course to support 100 business projects across Cambodia, Vietnam and Laos.

The goal of the program is to help local businesses plan to connect, structure and expand their businesses to contribute to the local economy and forest protection.

We are looking for experienced professionals like you to help us make a significant positive impact by sharing your knowledge with entrepreneurs in Cambodia. If you are looking for a volunteer experience, this program is perfect for you!

Evolution for participants

Our program combines online content with weekly tutorials between you and the person you work with to build a successful company. As a mentor, you will receive a clear structure, regular monitoring, and participation in the Bridge for Billions business approach.

Improve your mentoring and leadership skills

Enhance your skills to evolve into an exceptional mentor: Based on the experiences of past mentors, they have consistently enhanced their listening, leadership, coaching, critical thinking, and business skills.

Get a certificate

At the conclusion of the 6-month training, you will be awarded a certificate acknowledging the comprehensive skills you have learned and the significant impact you have made during the program.

Any time and place

Our program is 100% online for mentors. Collaborate from anywhere, anytime through our online platform. No barriers, limitations or excuses: just connect to the internet.

Do you want to learn
more about the program?

Become a mentor if you:

Interested in making a positive impact on regional economic development as well as social and environmental sustainability.
Have at least 5 years of professional experience or study experience in business, creative, financial and / or forestry related activities.
Has a passion for entrepreneurship and local living and is willing to support them to develop further.
Knowledge of entrepreneurial ideas and mentoring skills on topics such as business model, financial forecasting, marketing plan, competition analysis...
Have a reliable internet connection and a computer / laptop that you can use regularly.
You can commit to participate for the entire duration of the program. You need to spend about 1.5 hours a week for 6 months (this includes the time you will have to devote to meeting entrepreneurs, reviewing your work on forums, and participating in various online sessions).

Selected candidates will be officially notified.

Entrepreneurs and mentors:

Fourth week of March (25th)

We will provide a joint conversation session to explain in detail the stages of the program and important events and get to know each other.

Matching mentors and entrepreneurs:

Early April

Participants will select the potential mentors they want to work with and schedule interviews with each other to match the mentors for the program!

Project duration:

From April to July

It's time to work on a business model with your mentor and join a networking session with industry experts!
